While enjoying a Benedictine liberal arts education at Belmont Abbey College from 1984-1988, I began earnestly collecting excerpts, poems, and quotations that spoke to me and I utilized the power of music to help me transition from a less to a more desired emotional state; so, it was there that the foundations for the Life of Significant Soil began.

In 1995, I wrote an essay entitled “Gratitude” in which I thanked: “All the minds and muses who lived before and with me. Those who give me the books, poems, art, music, and voices which help deliver my soul to God. With their help, I travel through words, rhythms, visions, and ideas on my path. I am brought full circle from darkness to light, from misery to joy, from ignorance to understanding.” This web site is my homage to those minds and muses. I hope you enjoy, appreciate, and benefit from the deep humanity offered on these pages.

So you have made it to the “About” page, thank you! I do not expect many people to explore this web site but I did want to make available the authors, poets, thinkers, and musicians who have meant so much to me in case they might also mean something to you. Thank you for exploring!

Cheers!
