In 1995, I wrote an essay entitled “Gratitude” in which I thanked:
“All the minds and muses who lived before and with me. Those who give me the books, poems, art, music, and voices which help deliver my soul to God. With their help, I travel through words, rhythms, visions, and ideas on my path. I am brought full circle from darkness to light, from misery to joy, from ignorance to understanding.”

Nature provides us with a cycle of seasons which reflect the changing concerns of our lives. Winter is associated with depth and darkness, Spring with renewal, Summer with heat, and Fall with harvest. The months are associated with themes that reflect their season.
